Baja Cactus---- question on LSD ?

cabokid - 2-3-2012 at 10:09 AM

Do u know if low sulphur diesel is available through out baja? How many ppm is pemex diesel? Thinking of buying 08 dodge 6.7 and has particulat filter on it . I hear HSD will kill it.

You need to ask about ULSD. LSD is/was about 500 ppm. ULSD is about 15 ppm.

This topic has been covered lots. Along the border, it APPEARS THAT ULSD is available. Not sure how far down the ULSD extends. But BCS is supposed to be lacking in ULSD.

Now, be prepared for the naysayers and the soothsayers on whether that truck can use LSD..............that's the only thing certain about this topic.

I think Baja Cactus makes peyote, not LSD. Close though.

The state of Baja California (norte) is all ULSD... distributed out from the Mexicali and El Sauzal (Ensenada) Pemex depots... This means the Baja Cactus Pemex (El Rosario) has ULSD.

Baja California Sur is another matter, as their diesel comes across the gulf from the mainland, and I haven't heard if the mainland has fully switched to Ultra Low (Ultra Bajo Azufre) yet.

All stations in BC except for Jesus Maria have USA made ULSD from the Deer Creek refinery Shell Oil / Pemex joint venture in Texas. Pemex said it will not acknowledge the presence of ULSD anywhere in Mexico until it is available to all stations.

The particulate filter is the Achilles Heel. Many have elected to replace it with a straight pipe while in LSD Mexico. They say to drive the vehicle for 1,000 miles on ULSD before putting it back on.

Ultra LSD? What happened to the good ol' LSD?:cool:
