I'm planning my solo 30-40 day offroad moto trip (a year off) and have a good idea on where I'll shack up for most of the trip but need a couple of
recommendations for Ciudad Constitution and Todos Santos. I'm not looking for the high end stuff at all, in fact would prefer the type of places that

welcome to baja nomad fudscrud !! I do not live in those areas and have never overnighted at either of them, so I can't give advice but if you need
ideas for other more northern locations - write and ask away !
will you be camping at all ? if so, bahia asuncion is a good option
la bocana will have outside showers and bathrooms ready by then so we'll also be another option
good on you for planning and getting excited about the trip a whole year in advance

As for the bike-in-the-room thing
I don't suggest that that be a criteria for a place to stay....
I think it is unnecessary in regards to safety, and is disrespectful to the establishment. Most places have a courtyard you can roll your bike
into....or a padlock on your disc rotor works well.
Baja is mostly bike-friendly....let's keep it that way.

Motoged, I too would much rather park my bike in a safe courtyard but there have been places i have stayed over the years where you just bring them in
the room because of lack of securety. So let me rephrase that: I would prefer the type of places that have a secure courtyard to lock my bike in or I
can roll my bike into the room if needbe, with a somewhat budget price.

I wished you well to have a good trip...and then suggested parking a dirtbike in a motel room might be considered a bit disrespectful....
My spirit tends to be one of encouragement and respect....but can dish out disrespect when it comes my way.
I have been aware of how some hosts offer security by allowing folks to take their bike into their rooms, and have also seen the oil drips, smelled
the gasoline, and watched housekeepers sweep sand and mud out of rooms as well.
I have never heard of a dirtbike being stolen from an inexpensive motel/hotel in Baja in the past 23 years....but perhaps it has happened.
I have heard of things being stolen off of bikes when the rider has not fully unpacked or locked up their stuff....

THere are a couple of places in Cd Constitucion that might be up your alley. But I wonder unless you have plans to ride North from there to La Purisma
and beyond, why you would even wish to stay in that town.

When I'm riding in Baja or anywhere for that matter, I always stop for those that may need help and give respect to those I meet and try not to
prejudge anybody.
Often I see on the vast impersonal internet, (like people driving their insulated cars), those that would say or do things and then rush to prejudge
others that they normally wouldn't do in person.
I try not to be one of them.
Any constructive info regarding the original question is more than welcome from you Ged. If none, let's just leave it at that and I'd still stop to

The only reason I may stay a night in Cd Cosnt. is that I will be in for a long day the next day as I will be headed SE to the SOC then down through
La Paz and on to La Ventana. So I want to get as close as possible to the start of the crossing. I've always just passed through and never even gave
it a thought to stay there before.

In Constitucion we stay at the Posadas Del Ryal.
Courtyard for your bike. Reasonable rates. Clean. Quite. One block west of the main drag on Guadalupe Victoria. There is a llantera on the corner
where you make a right if you are southbound. On the northern end of town.

We stayed at Los Arbolitos Motel in Constitution about a month ago. Nice rooms, TV, big courtyard, very secure, under $25. 2 blocks west of the hiway.

Yeah, what's wrong with some oil drips and spots, keeps the dust down....especially in the cheap motels without floor coverings.
