Last month I took a friend out to see the camping beach, it was his first visit to the area. No one was camped there on that beautiful day! I hope this encourages some to visit, looks like you may have it to yourself.

Ken...it used to be $4 per day per vehicle. What is the rate now?

It was up to 5.00 US in the 80s, 10.00 US in the mid 90s. But that included showers and trash pickup, too.

Man, it was great living on that beach for a week or two and having the guy in the rusty pickup truck coming by with whole uncooked chickens, vegetables, water, juices, eggs, tortillas, etc. Shrimp, too, though we often paddled out to the shrimpers at anchor.

But beer and ice was still a drive in to Mulege or SR until I think sometime in the MID 90s when that little Conasupo began carrying it. Isnt the guy who opened that Conasupo also the guy who sold most of the lots in the Shell Beach area?

I'm sure I asked this before but does anyone remember the guy who was a spitting image of Jack Nicholson who would spend many weeks at the Chivato beach camp area in late spring, early summer? Think his name was Dean. He was a rather "thirsty" individual, as I recall.

How 'bout it Jack Nicholson............are you on this board?

I just realized.............the early 90s are now TWENTY YEARS AGO!!!!!!

Roger,

I don't know, we didn't camp there. The Luhans (El Hotelito owners) are overseeing it, perhaps they will see this post and speak up.
