According to the link above, there is going to be more road construction near La Ventana.
Man, I was just getting use to the wonderful construction free road.

Until the entire Hwy. 5 is widened to the new Mexican standards (ie. with bike lanes or 'real' shoulders on each side), expect it to continue...
Widening Hwy 1. from San Quintin south will be the major job... and they have already been working on sections for the past couple of years.

La Ventana could use some improvement....after we leave SF please! I dont thing that I have ever seen M5 NOT under construction.

Mex5 past La Ventana is dangerous all the way from there to the new road about 40 miles south....and especially so through those small volcanic
mountains just south of La Ventana.

I'm sure it is coming soon! We saw the surveyors out when we were leaving last weekend. I know that the detours are a pain, but it will be
finished...eventually...and make the road a safer for us all.

Considering there were 4 people killed & one badly injured,recently it will be best to be getting it under construction soon & so it will be
safer for all.
