25 hour old moon over punta Colonet

Shot this a few days back. The moon was a tiny sliver, with Mercury at the extreme left in the image. Directly below the moon you can just make out punta Colonet.

Yeah mercurys always tough to see just cause its so close to the sun. If you sweep below bright Venus with binocs you will spot it if you have a good western horizon.

Its never very interesting with a telescope though...

Theres some cool Iphone apps (Iuniverse) that gives you a real view according to how you hold the phone lets you know where to look for something.
