Kathleen, I am so sorry to learn of the loss of Bajamigo. I have known him only through his posts on Nomad, so I was glad to see the photo of him above. I always enjoyed reading his comments.

Kathleen,
I as well as the hubby will be with you in spirit. Eventhough we only met for a few minutes at Hospital del Carmen last year, you and your husband left a lasting impression on us. God bless you and give you comfort as you celebrate your husband's joyful life.

BAJACAT - 3-7-2012 at 10:16 PM

Kat, we will be there..

bajadock - 3-7-2012 at 11:55 PM

Vince was a great guy and will be sorely missed by all of us who counted him as a friend and he will be missed by those who had not had a chance to meet him yet.

Hopefully I will see you there on Saturday!!

Head toward La Bufadora, just past the colonia of Cantu, there will be a bunch of Tamale stands on your left. Just past the Tamale stands, make a left into a dirt driveway, then make another left. The Salon will be on your right.......plenty of people and cars..... If you drive past the fire station on your left, you went about 1/2 block too far

Maybe not, under the circumstances. Parking tomorrow will be tough, so take what you can.

Sorry Kathleen

BajaRob - 3-10-2012 at 03:36 AM

We are in Amarillo and will not be able to attend. I know that it will be a wonderful celebration of Vince's life. We will miss him. Rob

Nice day with Nomads joining the Punta Banditos saluting Bajamigo. Bajabound2005 provided a wonderful catered event, along with her team of helpers. She is a talented and brave soul.

Baja Gringo(+Cristina), Udo(+Jana), Big Mike(+Leslie, "balloon queen"), Bajaguy+Bajablonde, Lizard Lips, Beachbum1a, dorbaja ...and apologies to others I'm not recalling with cup of coffee #1 this morning.

Everyone Vince touched had a story of his kindness, humor and that ever-present smile.

Hope Kathleen can hug all of the great memories through the tears.

From Vince Taormina's Facebook page, "You're never too old to have a happy childhood." :saint:

So many people and it was a fitting tribute to a great guy. It was great seeing Dennis, bajaguy, big mike, lizard lips and Doc. So sorry we didn't have a chance to meet udo and others who were there...

Bajahowodd - 3-11-2012 at 04:35 PM

My bad for traveling in Baja and not going online at the hotels with wifi. Sad to admit that we were in the area Saturday, ignorant about this event celebrating the life of our friend.

Condolences to the family.

Ohhh nooo.....You missed Udo? I think he was standing right next to me at the door while we talked.
Ohh welll.....next time.
It was good to see you there, Ron. Nice to see your face without all the tubes and wires holding it together.

I just posted my thoughts on PBBB. Hope all is well for Kathleen. For you and Christina as well. [She looks really good]

Udo - 3-11-2012 at 05:33 PM

I wish someone would have said you were around also.
I greeted everyone I thought I knew, and then some.
Next time BG!

Celebration of Life...

EnsenadaDr - 3-12-2012 at 08:09 AM

I feel like we should also celebrate the lives of those living, especially the lives of Ron and Cristina who were able to attend the memorial for Vince. That in itself is miraculous. God Bless the many Baja Nomads who cheered them through and the excellent medical attention they received along the way. Remember to do something thoughtful and kind for your fellow neighbor and Nomad...because once they are gone it is too late and regrets mean nothing after they are gone.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. It is a true blessing to have Ron and Cristina with us after what they went through. The hand of God was over both of them. The outpour of support they received from all Nomads, friends, strangers and family was unbelievable. Their love for eachother helped them to fight for a complete recovery. God bless you both. Vince must have been smiling down from heaven to see them both fully recovered.

My wife and I are still talking about the balloons that were let lose by the attendees.
The one white one (the one that Kathleen let go) was seemingly leading all the other balloons heading south...probably Bahia Asuncion.

bigmike - 3-12-2012 at 09:01 PM

It was great to get to meet Ron after reading his posts thru the years, of course quite a few other Nomads along with a ton of people came, the most people I have seen come to celebrate one of our friends here, it was very touching to hear all the comments made about Vince and Kathleen.
Thanks again to all the Nomads who were able to attend and to those who could not, Thanks for your kind words.
