I can't take the credit for the photo. It was on my friend Efren's fb page. This is such a classic Baja shot.

I just thought is was cute, and reminded me of my sixties and seventies years when I traveled to Baja, Many of the places we went only sold gas from a
barrel, or a gravity feed fuel pump...the ones where an attendant would pump the gas from a storage tank and up the a clear glass jar, then the gas
would flow via a nozzle to your vehicle.

THE best places in Baja ONLY serve gas from a barrel, bleach jug, or recycled container.
Guess where: ????

Yeah, who needs concrete aprons and big green pumps?

San Juanico "Pemex":
Where the siphon is set up by "blowing....not sucking":
"We rode around for 5 minutes looking for the "Pemex" that the locals at the store directed us to, and eventually determined that the "Pemex" was
another typical gasolineria operated by "Siphon Woman Extraordinaire"...
Again, no pics, but she impressed us with her novel technique: rather than suck on the siphon hose, she place her end of the hose in a gas jug,
wrapped her hand around the hose and jug opening tightly, .....and BLEW into the jug neck (as opposed to SUCKING on the outlet end of the hose), thus
creating a pressure differential that pushed gas into the hose.
Unfortunately we needed to blast back over the montains to Mulege, so we missed another opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of the locals.....
A friendly woman, with strong hands and a kind face....and a technique that impressed us to no end. Most unfortunate..."

I REMEMBER THAT! I thought it was really smart, but in the midst of all the other unique things I was experiencing, I had forgotten about it.

San Franciscito beach and "resort".
But if I am right, I thought they had a big gasolina tank just north of the airfield?? (AvGas tho)
