I was working hard at the clinic this morning, and I noticed the other male intern (2nd year interns are called pasantes in Mexico) left early, before
10 am. Then I noticed the female dental intern left early. Later, the Social worker came to my office and said, "The women are all leaving early
today, it's Dia de las Mujeres". Considering how much my boss appears to like Americans, I felt it was unlikely. She showed up 5 minutes later and
told me no, the boss said I would be the only one staying. The other Doctora left, and finally, I was the only woman left in the clinic. Here it is,
almost 3 pm, and I have been informed I am here till 4 pm. But a woman came in and hugged me and told me that our strategy worked, she is going to
get a heart valve operation in Tijuana in April. Another woman came in and brought me lunch because she says I am the only Doctor that has helped her
with her chronic back pain.
These are the real rewards of Happy Dia de Las Mujeres, to help other women.

I make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes.
