I have a 2011 Dodge Cummins diesel. Been using (northern) Mexican diesel for a year with no problems.

Last March, filled up in El Rosario, then Jesus Maria, then again in El Rosario........truck is running fine, however have never been below Guerrero Negro.

Baja Norte diesel is Ultra Bajo Azufre, just like here in the States.

So, you're saying you have made one trip below El Rosario in your Dodge truck? Just wondering because you say you have been using it for a year and then you describe one trip.

This subject has been much discussed on various sites. The concensus is that it is no problem..Some Ford trucks filter systems have had issues, for whatever reason...My older Dodge diesel, loves Mexican diesel, doesnt cost as much, and he saves his money for car washes...My neighbor, pemananent resident, has a 2011 Dodge, no problems...

The particulate filter is the ogre in the mix. Newer vehicles have them and older ones do not. They are touchy and they are expensive. There is no doubt that made in Mexico diesel will clog the particulate filter if "enough" soot runs through it.

Some people report taking them off for the duration of the trip and using a straight pipe bridge.

The Mexicans have the same year vehicles we do.

Perhaps no longer the case, but Antonio told me (a few years ago) that Mexicans can not own diesel automobiles, only diesel commercial trucks... Under the same law the keeps 'luxury' automobles from being sold in Mexico.

Not true anymore

Local VW dealership in Ensenada is advertising/selling diesels on the showroom floor.

So it would seem that it is 'no longer the case'... Thanks!
