False indicator that the air bag is armed. Air bag may not deploy in the event of an accident. Steering cable can wear through some electrical
circuits.

This is the 'spiral cable' AKA 'clockspring' failure which turns on the air bag light. Located in the steering wheel column.
It happend to my 2005 Tacoma when it was about 4 years old with 80,000 miles on it +/-... It was the ONLY 'failure' on my Tacoma, and all it did was
activate the air bag light... About $300 at the time to have the dealer fix. I wasn't happy, but being that was the only money I spent on that truck
for almost 5 years and 102,000 miles (other than brakes, tires, maintenance), I wasn't mad.
I have since learned that it happened to many Tacomas, so seeing this recall might mean a refund of that cost?
