Confirmation of what most of us have known all along.

The G 20 meeting will be held in Cabo San Lucas on June 18th and 19th. The meeting referred to in Alan's post may have been a closed meeting which H. Clinton attended. I don't believe all 19 countries of the G 20 Group were at that union.

The whole tip of the peninsula is going into martial law gridlock for the big one. What irony! Tourists will have nothing to fear during that week except the scary inconvenience of being over-protected by armies, navys and air force squadrons making sure everything runs smooth for Pres. Calderone and his guests.

Been here and they've done that! A few years back we watched truckloads of police motos, shields, etc. from the front porch of Franks in Todos Santos. They are serious and now much better equipped/armed for trouble. Maybe Chapo smelled a Rat? Glad we live in the Country, verdad Amigos! Tio

That must have been APEC, Asian Pacific Economic Convention -- Pacific Rim countries meeting as though they act outside the WTO. A VERY EXPENSIVE JOKE ON EVERYBODY IN THE SOUTHLAND. Baja Sur lost billions of pesos on that one and scared the bejesus out of every living soul at the tip.

Nice report, thanks, Alan. But you'd think they could have gotten a photo more representative of our fair city than the church in Todos Santos, given that they identify it as "La Paz."

Bush was down there at a Pacific Rim conference several years ago that was held at the Hacienda del Mar conference center.

I'm curious about Osprey's post because I was not aware that the G-20 chose Cabo. I thought Cabo was just in the running.
