At the front porch of a friend I saw a large pale yellow clamshell that came from Chivato. It was a small version (approx 4") of a kind that I know
goes well over 6". I've forgotten the name, can anyone help? A bonus would be to also remind what the Mexicans call it?

I know it only as Botijona, as the local divers call it.
Its the most-prized clam here in the Sea of Cortez and is growing more difficult to find. It has a large, long neck that extends 6-8 inches up to the
surface of the sand in 2-3 meters of water.
Its easier to find in the summer or mid-day when the waters are warmest.
I know a place where they are fairly prevalent, but I'm not tellin'!
