This tournament will be the best ever. I really can't believe it's been five years since we started this whole thing. Terry, Lynn, my wife and I were
at Agua Viva a few months ago to give a ton of clothes that were donated by Terry's daughter who asked her first grade class in Colorado to ask their
parents to go through their old clothes and donate what they could. I think it was about eight large boxes that were shipped to our post office box in
San Diego. Little by little all the clothes were brought down and were given to those who were in need.
Jim and Arlene who are the caretakers of Agua Viva and who have given every waking hour of their lives to this facility are true heros. If not for
them and their belief in God and unselfish spirt these kids have a chance to succeed not only with an education but to look at life and all it has to
offer with support and a window of opportunity. Something they never had before.
Just to look at these kids who got a pair of used tennis shoes or a young girl who was given a new dress and the smiles they had hits your heart. It's
humbling to say the least. Some of these youngsters were wearing shoes that had large holes in the soles and that was the only pair of shoes they had.
Arlene told me that the donations from this golf tournament is 30% of their total revenue for the entire year and she would have a lot of trouble and
would have to turn those in need away if it wasn't for this event.
If you can't support our effort by attending the tournament or fiesta then please next time you come down bring your old clothes and shoes or whatever
you may have to donate. You can U2U me, Doc or Terry and lets us know when you are coming down and we can get together and pick it up. We would also
like to show you the facility and how they operate and what they do. It's impressive and I'm sure you will have these kids on your mind for a long
time.

Frontera article...press conference was Tuesday, June 26 at Palacio Municipal, Ensenada, 11AM.
On Sunday, 15 July, will be held the fifth annual Golf Tournament to benefit the children of the nursery Agua Viva, announced at a press conference of
the organizers.
This fifth edition of the Golf4Ninos tournament is expected to have participation of about 100 golfers. The registration fee is $ 100 for all
categories from beginners to professionals and is available online at Golf4Ninos.com
Marco Antonio Osuna Novelo, Municipal Secretary of Tourism, reported that this sporting event will be held at the premises of the Baja Country Club,
starting at nine o’clock.
“Agua Viva, is a nonprofit organization for children, which offers free child care with preschool and kindergarten classes, public transport and a
nutritional program for children of parents with limited indigenous resources, it supports around of 130 children with two meals a day, serving over a
thousand meals a week. “, he said.
Novelo Osuna said that with the money raised at the event will help continue the nutritional program and transportation program, which allows to carry
older children to their schools and extracurricular activities.
“With the resources obtained through the Golf4Ninos project, 35 children enjoy pre-school study. This includes those who can not attend public with
a lack of proper birth certificate. To achieve financial and operational expenses of Agua Viva, we need to sustain the annual tournament and
fiesta.”, he said.
Daniel Mc Intosh, Member of the organizing committee said the tournament is open to children, women and men, all who wish to participate, “I invite
the community at large to play and support these impoverished children.”
Also, Doc Dougherty invited everyone to the grand fiesta , from 13:00 pm to 17:00pm, where there will be raffles, auction, food, music and dance at a
cost of $ 12 per person. The money raised will go to this grand cause.

What is Golf4Ninos? In 2008, a group of gringos, living in Baja, decided to throw together a little golf tournament and a party. The proceeds from
the event go to Agua Viva shelter, our neighbors on the south side of Ensenada.
That little golf tournament and party has grown to include more than 225 fiesta goers in recent years.

Our original event in 2008 was titled "Nomads4Ninos" and had grand participation from the Nomad community.

Yes.........show up at the Fiesta site at the Baja Country Club.
As you enter the CC, do not turn right (to the clubhouse), but continue straight and follow the road keeping the golf course to your right. About 3/4
mile from the gate you will see the outdoor picnic/Fiesta site on your left.

LIZARD LIPS ran the Golf Tournament and its details from 6AM until the $50,000 shootout chance by our champions late in the afternoon. 4 solid shots
from our champions didn't get as close as they would like, but, it was a EXCITING.
Cool trophies(nice touch, Dan), plaques, balls, free Baja Country Club golf certificate, granache wine and our exclusive Golf4Ninos LOGOWEAR were
given to the champs for the solid playing.
IRKA DAVIS and CONNIE MORGAN led teams of volunteers to pull off our best ever FIESTA after the tournament. Rock n Roll, taco feast, variety of beer
and wine, raffle, huge auction(Shari and BajaGringo, nice donations) and more!
