Photos from El Canon area

I just got home from 3 weeks of camping in Baja. Got my Tourist Card stamped, some money changed and a couple taco's in Ensenada and we headed for El Rosario. No problems at all, just ran a little late and had to drive in the dark for just a short time. Made it to our room at Baja Cactus and went to dinner at Sinai and it was OK. We had Halibut and it was really over cooked but the salad and vegges were good. The people working were really nice. We had room 103 at Baja Cactus which must be the quietest room. We got up in the morning and I went out to the truck to get something and the lot was totally empty of vehicles except for ours. So, we slept through the morning exodus and got on the road at 10am. It was a beautiful drive in Baja Norte. The rain had made it so green and the flowers were beginning to bloom and everything looked so refreshed. Saw some nice wildlife too.

We made it to GN by evening and had a few too many Margarita's and went to El Poblano for tacos, yum. The next day we got it together and headed towards San Francisquito via El Canon.

I'm out of time but will try to post some more pics soon. It was a lot of fun, did a lot of exploring, ate a lot of good food, drank a lot of good wine and Margarita's, saw some old friends and met a few new friends too. It was all good

Wow, that was GREAT! Thank YOU...

Really great photos and it was nice to hear something good about Baja Cactus Motel (from someone besides me, LOL).

Sounds like Primo changed the restaurant name to match the motel name? It used to be the Bocana Beach Restaurant... but last time through I saw Sinahi painted on the restaurant, along with Bocana Beach.

The shoes on your dog are a kick! Great for the desert with all the thorns!

Good quartz vein... looks like one I saw near Yubay. Love them boojum trees!

Thanks and looking forward to more!:bounce:

Glad you found some time to post these. I really enjoyed seeing them!

That is one healthy looking coyote and I love the dog boots! And while I like all of your pictures, the last one is my favorite----Jasmine just looks like an advertisement telling all dogs why Baja is so much fun for them.

Is this the Rancho El Cañon that is by Calmalli (just north of El Arco)?

Yes it is. We stopped and talked with the owners, Sr. y Sra. Cruz. You literally have to drive through their front yard. We had a nice chat and of course we asked for permission to pass. Very gracious people.

Excellent! The Baja ranch people are the BEST!

(fyi, if you want to make an ñ, just hold down the Alt key and type 1, 6, 4 (no commas) on the right key pad of numbers... when you release Alt, you will have ñ!) Cap. is Alt 1, 6, 5: Ñ :light:
