Fast note here on Mexicali and GB

Going south thru mexicali is a total nightmare.......the construction has ithe lanes down to two lanes....zigzaging in and out of detours. I strongly suggest taking a alt route!!!!

Other fast note......ANY CAR can get to Gonzaga Bay now. I am in a Sportscar that 13 inches off the pavement.....remaining dirt road was graded to a fine surface.

"13 inches" is a LOT. Many cars have less than 9 inches. How would they do?

Yah, 13 inches sounds like a Humvee... My Tacoma is just over 9" (at the lowest point/ differential).

Thanks for the Mexicali warning Deno... We will cross at Tecate and go to San Felipe via 2-D until the work is reported done.

Too bad for Gonzaga Bay... As Mama Espinoza said: "Bad Roads Bring GOOD People and Good Roads Bring 'ALL KINDS' of People" :wow::(

You might be able to get there on a roller scare but you REALLY have to worry about the Chupacabras up in the canyons and draws just waiting to pounce on you and then there are the bandidos polishing their pistolas and waxing their mustachios just waiting for a fat Gringo in a Cadillac to stop to take a leak!

Dangerous place down there. The buzzards don't circle in the wind for the fun of it.

He is driving a Toyota Celica this trip. Not sure what the 13 in is about.
Going south through Mexicali is fine from old border if you follow the fense east until you get to Tampiona or some such thing. It is the reverse the the typical way we go north to old border.
