Many of you involved with Off Road racing know the Locos Mocos pit support group of good guys. One of them volunteered to fight the war on terror...

Subject: Show your appreciation
Here's a chance to actually show one of our own how much we appreciate the sacrafice he made on our behalf. Last year when all the craziness in Iraq
started one of the Locos Mocos dudes got called up and spent a tour in Iraq with the 323rd Chemical Weapons Company.
When orginally called in April there was the slight chance that he would be back in time for the 2003 Baja 1000. Not. His tour was extended with
maybe the hope of the proverbial "home by Christmas" promise. Didn't happen and of course he "celebrated" New Years not on his quad in Glamis or
Pismo but in his HumVee somewhere in Iraq. He tells me it's not quite the same. Did he see San Felipe on race day? Nope. Middle of April rolls
around before Danny was on a flight back home.
I'm glad it was him and not me. He's home now and being the good kid that he is has gotten back in school and is working on taking care of the things
that got put aside while he was off doing the duty he signed up for. Danny wants join us for our annual Locos Mocos Baja 1000 pit adventure but feels
that he may not be able to gather the funds to make the trip and take the time off work unpaid.
To show my appreciation for his sacrafice, I told Danny that I would do what I could to try and help him go to the 1000. We all know how important
sponsorship is to our sport and we all appreciate what ever help a sponsor can give us. How about taking the time to support a guy who stood up for
you in a foreign desert by making a small donation to Danny "Squid" Patterson . I had Danny set up a PayPal account to make it simple to receive our
help. Donations can be sent to
egsquid@baja.com
Please take the time to send a couple of bucks to this guy and help him get back down to the Baja he missed last year
