Charles Rosewall (Rosie) passed away at the age of 90, approximately a week ago, at St. Elizabeth's Care facility in Hollywood, California.
Many Rosarito old timers will remember Rosie from the time he was Manager of the local Cruz Roja Thrift Store, back in the '90s. He was much loved and
respected for his kindness and his dedication to Cruz Roja Mexicano Rosarito.
He and his wife Elena Verdugo Rosewall resided in Castillos del Mar, just south of Rosarito.
Elena was instrumental in getting the construction of the present Cruz Roja Clinic underway while serving as President of Cruz Roja Voluntarios
Rosarito in the mid nineties. But most folks may remember the actress Elena Verdugo, twice nominated for an Emmy Award in her performances as office
assistant Consuelo Lopez in Robert Young's ABC series "Marcus Welby, M.D."
Elena has indicated that there will be a memorial sometime in April in Rosie's honor. A notice will be sent out when a date and time has been
determined.
Elena doesn't have an e-mail address any longer but she has indicated she would like to receive cards from old friends in Rosarito. Cards can be
mailed to:
