Barry A sent this to me today, and it is worthy of sharing here on Nomad as we all mostly enjoy the ocean and gulf along Baja!

cool. but if you know how a hurricane spins in the northern hemi, look at 1:34 March 2005 and you'll see that the cyclonic behavior is reversed..... how can anyone spend so much time and get the basics wrong?

Remember these are OCEAN currents, and not atmosphere cloud patterns.

Here is the caption under the clip that is on You Tube:

This visualization shows ocean surface currents around the world during the period from June 2005 through Decmeber 2007. The visualization does not include a narration or annotations; the goal was to use ocean flow data to create a simple, visceral experience.

Wow, very nice. I was amazed at the current activity going up through the Gulf and then back around the tip of Florida. And, the way the currents are around the equator. Very interesting. Thanks.
