Reduced hours at Tijuana Border INM

David K - 4-16-2012 at 01:42 PM

Per and email from Discover Baja today, the INM office (to stamp tourist cards) at San Ysidro/ Tijuana border is now only open from 6 am to 10 pm... Same as at Tecate... No other crossings named, or how a border can be open 24 hours, but no border officials can 'check you in' from 10 pm to 6 am... ??

Yep, I mentioned this a while back. In addition, the bank is not open 24 hours anymore.

dk:
the border remains open 24/7, just the immigration office is closed at night. if you need immigration office to issue or stamp visa, then cross during hours it is open.

We always walk across some days before crossing, get the visa, taco, walk back.

Then it's easy to take a chance and hit the go thru at any entry. Nice living 2 miles from TJ.

Who goes to get a tourist card at midnight anyway? They probabaly got tired of paying an official to sleep all night.........

People wanting to avoid traffic or get an ultra early start... It is nice to be past Maneadero by daylight... not that I get to do that very much anymore...
