I've already ordered up a set of 100/80 Hella bulbs, and I have Tyco relays, marine wire, terminals, solder, you name it.
But if the Hella's don't do it, what then?
There is a small flat area on the plastic bumper that can support a set of lamps with sister bracing (super large washer plates).
But anything larger than a small lamp is going to be right in the way and block badly needed airflow to the radiator.
I need a flood lamp beam pattern and bright as hell to see those %$#@^&!!! baches after sundown. And those asphalt colored cattle standing on the
shoulder 200 yds down the carratera.
Oh yeah. and to make matters worse I have to try and do this on a social insecurity income :-(

my 25 year old KCs help so much i cant imagine the hellas won't do it for you. i aim my right light just at the shoulder 100' ahead and the left one
just left of the truck left light. along with the straight ahead truck brights this spread works very well.
it will take some adjusting so bring a wrench with you for a few drives until you find the right spread for your own needs.....

Baja Designs has excellent off road lights, and are located in San Marcos (almost Vista), CA. If I could buy new lamps, it would be from them.

Two Hella 500's with the relay wired to the high beams on my Dodge, and with the spread set as Woody says, does a fine job. The Hellas are light but
still $55.00 a pair. They also block a LOT of air.
These Hella Micro FF types should do the same thing with less cooling problem. Same basic price.

Yeah, Social Security budget and social security eyes. Even at 50 mph, I like seeing a lot better in Baja at night if I choose to drive. I've stuck an
old 100 watt Hi-Liter pencil beam between the two Hella's and for $100. all together TEAM AARP does just fine.

I'm sorta screwed folks La Doctora is the cardiologist at the Seguro Social and she is available only after 5:00 PM. If i could drive 400 mph I could
make it home before sundown.
And I challenge anyone, even with 20/10 eyesight driving a McLaren to drive that 72 miles without aircraft landing lights quantity of lighting. Those
potholes seem to light up only when a strong light passes across them revealing the shadow. How bad are the potholes? Some you have to come to a
complete stop for, and then ease across them.
Now try driving all that at 7mph with regular lights so you can stop in time. I also neglected to say anything about FIVE FOOT DEEP sand dunes
covering most of the highway in spots. This ain't the gringolandia grade transpeninsular folks, this is Baja California of 4 decades ago.

Thanks for all the tips. I will follow up on all of them except perhaps for the LED lights. Christ, i couldn't even afford the tax of that LED lamp
but it shore looks good :-)
