1. Someone to pressure wash the engine of a tiny subcompact for a reasonable price $20.00 US seemed kind of steep out here.
2. A mechanic who would reach up under the dash and change a turn signal flasher for less than $20.00 US (the neighbor of the pressure washer guy).
3. Someone who has the tools and equipment to mount a pair of driving lights on a plastic (rubber?) bumper. Involves making a pair of metal drilled
sister plates and priming them against rust.
4. Seemingly the best most well equipped auto parts store.
5. The biggest and best store to buy electrical wiring stuff for houses.
6. The best "Segunda"

Hey DavidE. Iīve tried three different places in GN for pressure washing the underside of my car. I wouldnt recommend TRN, the one almost in front of
malarrimo, they forgot to wash the bed of my tacoma and became really upset when in told them to wash the car again. Not cheap either, charged some
300 pesos.
Later i tried Beboīs Carwash on the way to banamex, next to the marina camp and nealry as bad as TRN. These folks dont like you to criticize their
work, even if its lousy.
The only one thats not that expensive or the workers too lazy to acomplish the task, would be El panino. its on the same block as Caracoles Hotel as
you enter town, the first paved street on your right hand. (250 pesos for a really dirty jeep cherokee).
EDIT: i re-read your question, and wouldnt recommend washing the engine. Unless its interfiering with normal operation, even the slight excess of
humidity will corrode terminals and wiring REALLY FAST.

I take my cars (a 2001 Tacoma and a 2000 Jeep cherokee) to Montelongos shop, seems like any other chop shop in baja, but dont be fooled by the look,
he has the tools and the skills.

Same guy, his shop is on the back of telmex building.

Thats a tough one, most of the mechanics order parts from Ensenada and La Paz. On the main street, i haved some luck with Ceseņa Autopartes just
passing the gas station, almost in front of the IMSS.

One block down the Tianguis de Baja California (la ballena market) there are two stores: "Microelectrica de Guerrero" that carries almost everything
you may need, but have to order from the counter to the clerk and sometimes its confusing for even us mexicans to make ourselves clear.
The other one is "Materiales del Pacifico", next to agua fres-k-pura, some 30 meters from Microelectrica. not your regular home depot, but you can
pick from the shelves whatever you need.
Another option is Materiales Ceseņa, on the same block as ISSSTE tienda on main street, kinda pricey tough for local standards.

Word on the street is that the best segundas are in Vizcaino. again, it depends what are you looking for. Most of the segundas open on weekends,
theres a cluster of like 5 or 6 one block down the water tank, on the street parallel to main.

Guerrero Negro has a bad rep for being a town with limited options in services, but thatīs changed a lot in the last few years...
good luck.shari - 4-23-2012 at 07:46 PM
hey Archie...bienvenido a bajanomads...you sure know your stuff re: GN!!! excellent recommendations...but I do like the segunda on the corner...great
prices and lots to choose from.DavidE - 4-24-2012 at 09:59 AM
Ohhhh, I could just kill for an overstuffed chair to sit in and read and use the computer and daydream and dozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzze off in. But I have no
way to get it "home", 72 miles over "la carratera del infiernillo" My tiny car squeals in agony when receiving a load of a half dozen shopping bags.David K - 4-24-2012 at 01:47 PM
