Besides Mike's Sky Rancho, can anyone recommend a lodging/"dude ranch" in Baja, where they offer trail rides to interesting places , homemade
goods/art,etc, preferably between TJ and Mulege. I was thinking Sierra San Francisco, but I am trying to see what else is out there.David K - 4-25-2012 at 05:19 PM
Meling Ranch (just south of Mike's) is closer to be a dude ranch. Rancho Piedra Blanca between El Arco and Punta San Francisquito might be another one
to check out, based on recent reports here on Nomad.LoyeB - 4-25-2012 at 05:23 PM
We were just there a few weeks ago.
Comfy, but simple and inexpensive rooms
Great meals,
close to the National Park (Parque Nacional)
and yes, they have horses to ride.
Very cool place, and not too far south of the border,
just about 3 hours.LoyeB - 4-25-2012 at 10:27 PM

Approx. 30 miles to San Francisquito and approx. 40 miles to San Rafael.LoyeB - 4-26-2012 at 12:44 PM
So roughly about a little over an hour to San Rafael with a 4x4 tacoma with bfg a/t tires aired down ?Skipjack Joe - 4-26-2012 at 01:00 PM
There is major washboard on that road. I doubt you can do 40mph. The windy mountain section should slow you down no matter what your driving habits.David K - 4-26-2012 at 02:46 PM

In a Tacoma, a piece of cake... the BFGs are another matter!
Seriously, you really need to toss out the watch when you cross the border... just enjoy the time you are there... eat when you are hungry and sleep
when you are tired!
Now, I just remembered another place for you! SAN GREGORIO, south-east from SAN BORJA on the Golfo Camino Real de las Misiones.
Of course ! The watch is always gone in Baja. We've got to be on manana time! And yes I was checking out San Geritrude sp ? and San Gregorio, both
look awesome !David K - 4-26-2012 at 04:39 PM

Santa Gertrudis Mission/ village ? I read about a bed and breakfast there many years ago, operated by someone from Guerrero Negro, as I recall... I
think Shari may know about it?
