I am looking to rent a car to take to Bay of L.A. Any advice on how difficult it is to rent a car in San Diego and take it all the way down there?
Also, what companies do rent cars for mexico trips? Expensive? Thanks.

right at the San Diego airport. Car, insurance, everything right there.

Avis is the only major company I found that would allow travel past Ensenada. We rented a minivan last October, I don't know if they have changed
policy on travel into Baja California. I checked the Avis website last week and they have the online rental for $239.00 per week for a minivan.
Lastyear with rental, insurance and tax it totaled right at $400.00 for the week. Picked it up Monday @ 6 PM and returned the following Monday @ 4
PM. A full seven day rental. If a minivan will work call Avis local in San Diego to verifiy travel into Mexico and then book thru the online special.
I tried booking with the San Diego location and could not get the same deal. When I went to pick the van up I added insurance on the spot. The
small print does say you are covered if you do not drive on dirt roads. I've never seen a dirt road in BOLA, they all have rocks on 'em.

Can someone answer this authoritatively:
Is it who will rent you the car... or who will you get insurance for it from?
