Heading to Todos Santos Cinco De Mayo for a short 2 week fly in (we usually drive), got the car reserved so we will be mobile. I want to buy more
leather goods, the best belts and wallet I have were bought in a small shop in Todos and this trip I would like to buy more leather goods and
particularly Huarachis (sp?). I prefer to buy from a shop that does there own work and not just importing for sale because I like to support the local
people. As I said we have a car and we are Baja vets and we intend to travel all over possibly as far north as Mulege, so anybody have a favorite

"Leather Craftsman" may be another description although "Leather Smith" says it all to me.
By the way...and in no way intended to be a hijack of your quest....we had a discussion recently about the La Bufadora Mall, and I mentioned that a
lot of the authentic Mexican curios sold there are actually from China.
Since then, I've made some inquiries to people who work out there and their estimate is 80 to 90 % falls into this catagory.

Miraflores does have a leather crafter, one or more. i've seen their work at the art festival in los barriles. should be a nice day trip. los barriles
is only about 30 or so miles northerly and has many restaurants and other things to do.
may i suggest you post your query on " bajaponyexpress3@gmail.com ".
this website is based in los barriles but covers the baja sur area.

Last summer I bought 2 leather souvenirs in Todos Santos.
The beer holster was purchased in one of the busier tourist traps on the main drag. Im sure it was made in China, but I dont care. I gets lots of
laughs and it is a permanent fixture in of my desert party kit.
The leather etching you see was made by a local Mexican artist I met at the TS Mission. It is very soft goatskin with very fine detail and it is
really beautiful. He had several more of the missions of Baja Sur. It was not made in China.
It is signed by Max Uranga. He had long hair and he was about 26-28 years old.
