El Arco

Has anyone been to El Arco lately? Bonnie is interested in the minerals etc there so we might stop in May. Any info on services, lodging, or supplies? Looks like we will down that way in late May.

Thanks!

Hey EdZ

El Arco is a very small town or a big ranch, depends where do you come from. No services like restaurants or gas available. I know of a little "tiendita" run by Doņa Lily Gallegos, you can get a cold cocacola but theres no beer.

The mining company recently stopped all operations in the area and everybody went away, so anything you may need must be brought with you or you can get some things in Guerrero Negro.

A few miles down the road to El Barril-San Francisquito, theres is a placed called Rancho La Piedra Blanca, owned by Villavicencio family. They have cabaņas, food and guides to some really cool places that only they know.

Camping its a nice option, but its been warming up lately and seen a lot of rattlesnakes. If you can handle yourself in the desert, nights out are wonderfull these days.

have fun.
