VIDEOS: Gonzaga to Coco's Corner 24 April 2012

Contrary to some Nomad's' reports that this old road is now a "cake walk" for "any" vehicle, here are two videos showing the actual road conditions (southbound), showing the contrary on 24 April 2012 --- 37 miles between Bahia San Luis Gonzaga & Laguna Chapala at Highway 1. Many photos also available north-to-south).

I was probably a silly Nomad fool for doing this solo. And in a "street" vehicle, at that. But, hey, to those of you that know me, I'm a "fool for adventure." Including burying the Jetta in the sand in Gonzaga & sleet-snow-camping in San Pedro Martir.

More posts to follow, including next segment & camping below 32 degrees in April at 8,000 feet elevation in Parque Nacional San Pedro Matir. And seeing friends Pete & Olivia at Nacho's Camp. Y mi dentista en Playas de Rosarito para una operacion oral largo.

Yeah, that's a crappy road. You've documented it about as well as anyone. I recognize many of the spots.

I was surprised that you aired up for it at Gonzaga. I do the opposite and it helps.

I lost the audio portion somewhere in the 2nd video. But I noticed that you got dialed in on those split roads. That's the secret if there is one. I'm almost never on that gravel. But as you showed, there are none in that hilly part.

Thanks for reminding me what it's like ("thank you for the memory").

Hey, Skippy. What do you drive when you are down there? I was afraid of "too low" air." My VW Jetta was quite light compared to the usual Nomad vehicles.

great, lotsa of "cajones" on your part for doing it alone and in a street car.
We did this run about a year ago in a Tundra but never let the air out of our tires.
