Shipping address?

bmw_721 - 5-2-2012 at 06:18 PM

Forgot my drivers liscence and auto registration at the mexican iunsurance office in San Diego. The office will ship it to me, but I donŽt have an address. Am currently in San Quititen, and heading south, anyone know of an address or someone I could contact to have it mailed ahead of me and waiting, rather than me waiting for mail at some town? Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated!!

Depending on how long you are going to be in Baja I have had important stuff mailed to me twice with good results. Both were sent via overnight priority mail UPS. One package took 12 days and the other 10. (Not quite overnight!!) I had them sent to me (ie my name) Lista de Correos Mulege, B.C.S. CP.23900 (This address is basically a general delivery address but by paying for overnight postage you can track it online and stuff doesn't seem to get lost.) The Mulege post office is close to Mx 1 but I'm sure you can have it mailed to any post office of your choice. Ron

great question! this should be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

one time 1991 in puerto escondido, oaxaca i ran out of money. i called a girl, told her how to get into my house and where the $ was. she western unioned it to me the next day. it took 4 days until they "found" it at the office in puerto, actually, a cop walking in the door when i was leaving on day 4 helped them "find" the money. i still don't know why they were messing with me! 4 days with only an onion, a handful of rice and a couple of limes. it was a 4 mile round trip walk to the office and it was just a bit HOT!!!!

good times.....

If they can get to Tijuana to the bajapack office, the package labeled as "Ocurre" wit your name as addressee can be sent to the next town youŽll be passing. "Ocurre" means you will have personally to pick it up from the bajapack office, usually next to the bus office in most towns.

from Tj to GN usually takes overnight.

I am sure you can have it fed exed to whatever hotel you are at. overnight. it'll cost ya but it will get there. we have even had a package hand delivered int he boondocks where we live. it was supposed to be overnight but took 2 days. we were quite impressed/

you can probably go to the hotel called JARDINES in san quintin and ask them to receive the package for you.

Maybe Antonio BAJACACTUS on BajaNomad, can go to the states and then put the docs on bajapack ? or maybe he is headed south and can drop the docs off in san quintin ?
