Well I finally rolled into Bahia de Asuncion, one of the places I've been dying to get to since leaving on this trip in January. I have to say it's
pretty amazing here albeit somewhat windy in the afternoon. Well, a lot windy in the afternoon.
I drove through town looking for Shari and Juan and some kids pointed me in the right direction where I met Juan. Super nice guy who scored big points
by offering me a cold one which was much needed. The highway until the turn off for Bahia de Asuncion is nerve racking in an old vehicle. Potholes
everywhere combined with sand blown across the road like snow drifts. Once you make the turn off though it's smooth sailing.
I followed Juan to Campo Sarina where I met Shari who is every bit as sweet and accommodating and helpful as she is online. She brought me abalone
burgers and tomatoes from her garden today. After 5 years I'm no longer a vegetarian but a pescadarian. Thanks Shari. They were tasty.
Her camp is also great. I wish more people were here for the sake of her business but the selfish side likes having it all to myself. She has a great
little room full of books, a cot, bathroom and shower (WITH hot water), washing machine out back, etc etc. She even got all fancy with things like a
shower head and shower curtain and toilet paper and even liquid soap. Oh the luxury! Not to mention electricity and WiFi! I feel like a king.
I'm off to shoot some video and photos tomorrow and will post them in the gallery when I have time. I had planned on a couple of days here but may
just stay a tad longer.shari - 5-2-2012 at 08:36 PM

Well, you all did one heck of a job---Elizabeth II is now number two and in just a few more years she will overtake Victoria's record.
Long Live the Queen---- or in the spirit of that Brit, Thomas Paine, who spurred on the Rebellion of the Colonies, the principal ruffians have
survived.
