Baja Winds

Whether it is the East Cape side or the Pacific side, Baja winds are a significant factor.

Today, we have had twenty-five mph wind gusting to thirty-five mph since 1:00 p.m.

Our next-door neighbor has a crew trying to erect a large party tent for a wedding reception and they can't even put up the metal support poles.

The tent canvas cover has blown away on the property.

It has been dead calm all day here in La Paz. Overcast and a little muggy but not quite too hot. The wife and I drove clear out to Tecolote for lunch hoping to catch a breeze off the water but it was dead-calm and the channel between Espiritu Santo was glass!

Here at GuerreroNegro its cool and windy as usual. Mornings start with some low clouds but by mid day its clear and sunny, from there you can expect wind increasing till next day sunrise.

I saw this in another thread, some nomad posted it and i´ve found it quite useful, and its linked to the weather underground site so its supposed to have real time feedback on weather conditions.

each baja location has it's windy times...ours is right now on the pacific mid coast...april-june when 25 knots in the afternoons is about normal. Oh but our mornings and nights are glorious indeed...lovely air temps and sunny nearly every morning...unlike GN!! But baja wind is a good thing as it erases footprints in the sand and makes it a new world every morning...besides...if it werent windy, I'd be at the beach ALL the time and never get any work done!!!

There's a lot of energy being wasted at Asuncion. A potential wind farm? Let's not get ahead of ourselves. First the paved road.

25/35 mph winds yesterday in Rosarito? I don't recall any wind here, to speak of, but I could be mistaken. That was a long time ago.

Then again....maybe we'll get it today. Many times, the weather around San Diego is a day away from us.

one cool thing about wind here on the skinny peninsula is that if it is blowing like stink on the gulf side...just head over to the pacside where it will be calm and visa versa.

That does it the tipping point is near! One more reason to think about this area for a new northern home. :yes:
