Fresh Water Availability in San Felipe for washing

Does anyone know about Fresh water availability
in San Felipe for motor home tanks, and what about south in Puertocitos or Ganzaga??

Washing?

if you are looking for water to wash yourself or clothes, any water from San Felipe will be fine. We have city water at our casa and shower and wash clothes in it all the time.

I drink straight from the tap. There is also water stations in town where you can buy filtered water. Puertocitos water is fine too. The camp can help you there...ask for Clara

Our water over here in Campo Lajolla, (south of encenada) is Warm Mineral water on tap,
Wonderful to bathe in but too salty for water pumps
We are heading over to the Gulf
and 70 gallons to drive over the hills is ALOT of weight.
So in San Felipe Where would we fill up??
I remember in Muleje a tap outside a grocery store (free)
But never needed filling in San Felipe

For drinking water in San Felipe we buy the, I believe
it's reverse osmosis, sp?, filtered water, there are
a few plants on the road to Rubens RV, as you are
coming into SF from the no., maybe 1 mi past the
Arches is a traffic circle, turn left about 4 blks. But
you might not want to PAY for that many gals.,
sounds like you want to stick a hose on a bib in
a public spot and fill a tank. I think it would have
a park or other public venue, otherwise someone
is paying for the water. Sounds a bit tricky, might tick
someone off, wonder if a Pemex station would do?
I remember a park about 6 blks before you get
to the Malecon off to the right

Pauncho in Mulege has put locks on his water taps. You have to support his meager business to get the key now.

I used to when necessary drive up ice house road in in Mulegé all the way to la huerta de los naranjas y toronjas and get water from their pozo.

naranjos like about 15-20 miles towards la purisima? that is quite a haul, but water is a good thing when you have none.

Yeah......downtown by the round about is a water company.....filtered and all. Maybe BajaLou or DavidK can dial in the exact directions.

Yah, water and ice plant is to the north from the traffic circle, as I recall.

we'll look near the round about
I haven't been to San felipe in 10 years, I'm sure is Grown, so we just want to pass through
and hope the road south as good as I'm reading

The road going south is FANTASTIC! Remind me of the Pacific Coast Highway north of the bay area. Have fun.

I think that SF water supply comes out of the mountains, but, what I worry about is the delivery mechanism and lack of back flow prevention devices.

The San Felipe water comes from wells, on the old Puertecitos road, about 8 miles south of town. They were installed about 1978 and the pipe to town is burried under the old Puertecitos road.

Naturally, the water does originate from rainfall in the mountains, and moves underground to the east.

Isn't the water terminal, where the trucks all load, south of town just beyond the last Pemex? Wonder if they'd fill an RV there?

Good call, as you said, the last Pemex on the upper road
going so. towards Puerticitos, water trucks do load
there, don't know if it's a commercial setup
or available to the public

If it is it will cost wayyyyyy more $$$$ than the water guys pay for it. But maybe that is not a concern?
