hiker on toll road pushing a hand truck

tripledigitken - 5-19-2012 at 08:41 PM

The thread about the 2 hikers attempting to do 2000 miles in 100 days reminded me of this guy.

A number of years ago we saw a pedestrian on the toll road heading south just near Puerto Nuevo pushing a hand truck with backback, tent, water jugs, etc. First and last time I ever saw anyone doing this.

Did anyone else see this guy?

Ken

Along the same topic, heard from a couple old Baja
geezers they saw a guy on a unicycle with backpack
going down the Hwy so. of Loreto, there was a post
here months back from a mid peninsula resident
who observed
and talked to a free spirt guy from Canada who was
pushing a three wheeled baby carriage down Hwy 1,
he was walking around the world

We had a guy that walked around our rural county roads for years, all dressed in white, with a 12 foot wooden cross painted white over his shoulder, little tiny caster type wheel on the end, just bumped along for years.
Guess he passed on, no idea what happened to the cross.

This country closed most of it's mental hospitals under Reagan if I recall correctly. Then again, the description of insanity was been suspended in 'one nation under god' WHERE RELIGION IS CONCERNED.

I remeber reading about this in a Roy Baldwin blog he said the old salt had a commission from the Discovery Channel to document the adventure...that was in 2006.

The "STATE" closed hospitals during Reagans governorship. If you are looking for "someone to blame" I would also take a look at the ACLU. I would do a little reading on the LPS act and how it came to be. Here are a couple of links,

As usual, it appears both sides are to blame..
