100 deg right now, 109 later this pm.

I don't know the temp or humidty but I do know that here in Los Barriles, if I stay inside under the fan and don't move around to much, in this moment very comfortable. The moment I go outside in the sun, misery, the sweat pours out of every pore.

chumlee57 - 5-21-2012 at 12:37 PM

Beautiful here in sunny Santee, 87deg and ultra light breeze, sounds like Chivato and sur are heating up

David K - 5-21-2012 at 12:58 PM

Perfect in Oceanside, blue sky, low 70's... It's May, and once the gray burns off, it is sunny and nice... BUT, I would rather be in Baja!

80 in Central Cal Valley
Friend just drove over from SF- it was 51

Don't you love these Winter months in San Francisco??

DianaT - 5-21-2012 at 02:40 PM

This morning after the marine layer burned off here in Bahia Asunción, it was HOT in our backyard where we were ripping out tons of gazanias, but cooler and breezy in our front yard.

It is now 3:30 and it is colder in the front yard and windy---still short-sleeve weather, and still quite warm and less windy in the backyard.

We never know what the actual temperature is---we just monitor it according the what clothing is needed and we judge the wind by do we want to walk in it, or stay inside.

BajaBlanca - 5-21-2012 at 03:11 PM

windy and quite comfy temperature-wise here in la bocana ... n I agree with Diane, we never know the temp but guage jackets or outer cothing based on wind/no wind since it is shorts & t-shirts pretty much all year round.

Mark Twain's comment about SF goes something like:

"It's the coldest winter I ever spent in the summer".

Oso - 5-21-2012 at 03:17 PM

98? I don't even turn on the AC. It's 105 today. This is springtime for us. When it's 120, I'll concede it's hot and put on the AC. Otherwise I just enjoy it. It's a dry heat, you know.

Awwww, gee

And here I thought that was an original line with me.
Oh well, back to the note pad.....:lol::lol:

59 cloudy wet degrees here in the north woods.:tumble:

elgatoloco - 5-21-2012 at 05:15 PM

The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.

I always liked that Mark Twain quote and use it often. Too bad it's not his.

You can take credit thebajarunner!

72 and sunny here 26 miles NOB. Marine layer starting to move in, again.

Thanks crazy cat

thebajarunner - 5-21-2012 at 05:44 PM

I did not attribute it cuz I had heard the same thing,
so I was hoping to take credit for the line..... NOT

By the way, have you ever forgiven me for launching a rocket attack on your camp at La Gringa a few years back???

Forgiveness is a good thing, you know:yes::yes::yes:

Hot is relative

O.G. - 5-21-2012 at 06:20 PM

Left Ensenada this morning; 10 minutes thru Tecate; 20 minutes in secondary; 108F at 6PM in lovely Palm Springs. Nearest large body of water is the Salton Sea...no thanks!

shari - 5-21-2012 at 07:10 PM

Like Diane and Blance...I figure it's somewhere between 75-80 in the middle of the day...it was cooler with a marine layer this morning which is most excellent for working in the garden...so I start out the morning in a long sleeve T-shirt and shorts...then take the shirt off and switch to a tank top late morning...then put the shirt back on again around 5-6 in the afternoon.

The nice things is being able to work in the garden and get things done when it isnt too hot:bounce:

Love the micro-climates in Bahia Asunción! There must be at least 20!

But there is a lot to say for snuggling under the blankets at night. Down on the cape in sight of the Pacific, I spent last summer laying on top of the sheets with two fans blowing on me. But I simply HATE those green & white CFE bills when the amount due has a comma in it. In Michoacan, it's the humidity. Everybody (families) that can afford to, cram into one bedroom and turn on a 5,000 BTU A/C unit.

In Lancaster, we used swamp coolers. 120F outside, 80F inside but in the blast of the fan it was too cool to stand. About 30% humidity seems to be the upper limit.

I am almost over it. Another year or two and some payback should do it. :saint:
