Ecomujeres pointed out that the pics in their original size are frustrating to deal with on a small screen, so I've resized these to 800 pixels wide.
The originals are here.
As time and fortune pleased all six of my previous winter trips to Baja were dry ones. This year was different. Four hard rains came in November and
promised an explosion of colour. For your enjoyment here are some pictures taken as the desert bloomed. I've found a few names, please add any that
you know.
Only once did the rain fall during the day. This early morning downpour had muddy rivers running from the campground to the ocean in a matter of
minutes.
Bolsa de Conejo (Harfordia Macroptera) Rabbit's Purse
Mariola (Solanum Hindsianum) Nightshade
Mal de Ojo (Sphaeraicea Ambigua) Desert Mallow, Desert Hollyhock
Tronador (Cardiospermum corindum)
Dodder, Cascuta sp.

FYI Nomads: If you're viewing the photos on this page, I posted my ID's on the original page before I knew this page existed.

Thank you, ecomujeres, for helping turn a bunch of pretty pictures into an education resource. Your knowledge is impressive.
