Around 11:00 am, we tried to get in line at San Ysidro, but the wait line was backed up almost to the Padre Kino roundabout.
So we bailed and headed for Otay. We entered the line at 11:43 am (after missing some of the turnoffs, which was frustrating) and crossed after an
hour's wait.
I was disappointed by the switch, because Otay has no churros vendors in the Ready line.
Just like last time through, the CBP officer was pleasant and friendly. He asked the name of our dog. (I am beginning to believe that this is a
"profiling thing.)

How do you find the ready lane at Otay? I was there a couple of weeks ago and got in a lane to the right that would not allow me to cross over to the
ready lane because of the concrete barriers. It was very frustrating because there was a 3 hour wait. Of the 12 gates 6 were dedicated to ready lanes
and 6 to regular traffic. The problem was that only 1 of the 6 ready lanes were open.
