Once again the road is in overall good shape and no heart pounding moments to report. Left GN at 6:30 am and arrived in La Pazat about 5 pm. This
included about an hour swim time for the boys at El Coyote, the checkpoint north of Loreto took about half an hour due to a broken down box truck and
they were inspecting everyone in both directions (even asked to check our passports), and lunch in Loreto. Road south of Vizcaino was rough for a mile
or two. Road work on El Inferno: second hill to almost the Gaspasa and the final downhill are dirt and gravel, use caution! Both ends of town in Santa
Rosalia are torn up, but it seems like every trip part of the roads through town are that way! Saw a cop had a Mexican convoy pulled over in
Constitucion ( I had passed them prior to Loreto), they were in the southbound outer lanes. It is amazing in that town that they pull over so many
cars passing through while the locals have total disregard for any traffic laws, many not even slowing at altos at all. Rest of the way uneventful.
Improvements to Mex 1 are worth any and all inconvenience, newer sections of road are wide and smooth!
