Used Washing Machine-Vizcaino area

Bajaboy - 6-6-2012 at 09:33 AM

Does anyone have an idea of what a used washing machine might cost? We bought a great used fridge in Vizcaino a while back and are looking for a washer now. Just looking for a price range.

Thanks

Zac

Dang, we could have asked Raul when we stopped in to visit with him yesterday in Vizcaino. (Rodriquez) I believe that is where you bought your refrigerator? I tried to call but his cell phone is not working.

One of the good things about buying a washer from Raul is that he stands behind his used washing machines. We had to return one and it was no problem. He also repairs the machines.

He is a good guy and was so happy when we told him you sent us. We also bought a mattress from him. We'll stop by next week on our way to BA. I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect.

I just bought one for 2,000 pesos and that was a cheap one...usually they are around 2,500...yes, it's lovely that the vendors will fix them but it's a real pain driving them to vizcaino and back..as we had to do twice with the used one I bought...both times the guy said it worked and then it had faults when we got it home...so make sure you actually hook it up and do a full cycle because it may turn on etc and appear to work...but ours spun while it was extracting water which will break that little plastic piece in the transmission which requires another trip to vizcaino...beware. But yes, the best bet is that guy at the curve.

In La Paz, the used price is $1800-2300 with a guarantee delivered in town. In the USA they sell used machines for half that or give them away for free. New machines at Home depot $2200-3000.

Rates for laundry service are typically 40-50 pesos for a load wash n dry and fold.

Zac - have you tried the SEARS OUTLET in the Morena district ? They have appliances with scratches for really cheap, sometimes. Brand new but can't be sold as such because of a little dent or scratch.
