Hyundai announces new plant

Tijuana Baja California.- Last May 18th, Baja California Governor, Jose Guadalupe Osuna Millan and Kenny Lee, CEO, Hyundai, announced a US$131 million investment in a new Aluminum Die Cast plant, a project that will start next July, generating 300 new highly specialized jobs. Kenny Lee informed that this investment represents more than 50% of the resources invested since their establishment here in 1989. "After careful consideration Tijuana was chosen due to the great significance of our experience here, including support received from other companies established here, local businessmen and the State Administration", Mr. Lee declared. He further said that the innovating program will start next July and that production should begin in January 2014, expected to generate annual income for US$141 million and add 300 new jobs to the 1,500 Hyundai currently generates in Tijuana.

Great for them! My Tacoma was made at the Toyota de Baja California plant (along Hwy. 2, west of Tecate) and it is the best one yet!
