Oh sure, there were better scoring defensemen like Coffey, Orr, Chelios and Borque. But Lindstrom did what defensemen are supposed to do, first.

I never saw a tougher player to get around when someone was coming down the ice on him. He epitomized the "brains over brawn" style of defending. He
just turned a player away from the action.
You make a great case Hook and it could be argued a bit...but not much. You could add Robinson and Potvin to the mix. My point would be Orr blew it
all up and changed the sport forever and that happens only once.
