I love the designs on the beach --- they are always beautiful, temporary, and unique.

Here are a few in their natural state.













A little scene in the corner



And the confused path from a critter



And I could not resist converting a few of these into something even more abstact

Really, really nice Diane. Great observation.

I like the 2nd one the most.

And the 6th one gets the silver medal. The sand radiating from that rock feels like there is so much energy and movement.

Very nice. Reminds me of my favorite Zen-like exercise. I like to go to the beach towards the end of low tide, take a stick and write out my problems, things that are bothering me, in the damp sand. Then I sit in a semi meditating posture (not the full Lotus, I can't bend that way anymore), A cold Pacifico helps set the mood. Then I just watch as the incoming tide erases all my problems. Try it sometime.

I especially like the fourth one - like lacey long frog legs in ballet.;D

And although generally I am insistent on nature looking like nature, I really and truly like those colored images you produced. How did you do that anyway? (Obviously I have not spent enough time playing with Photoshop.)

Thank you for the nice comments. It is always interesting to hear which one is someone's favorite and why ---- always really nice to hear that someone else sees what I saw.

And Oso--- I LOVE that idea. Just let those problems wash away---great one! It reminds of an exercise I do at times when I can't find an answer to a problem. Mentally I pack it away in a closed box, put the box in a field between two fences, forget it and then just let the answer come.

Nena, I know what you are saying about nature looking like nature. On the other hand, since I can't draw a decent stick figure, let alone paint anything, I am finding that using nature as a canvas, I can create some affects that I like and wish I had painted! Designs in nature are so perfect. I would never think about it as "improving on nature" as I don't think that is possible---just using nature as a guide to create something different.

On one of those I used basic photoshop, but for the others I worked with a Topaz plug-in for photoshop. It takes a lot of time to get what I want, but painting would be even slower. :biggrin:

And tomorrow, there will be brand new art on the beach to appreciate all over again. :yes:
