Hola Nomads
Planning on a romantic escapade for my better half birthday this weekend, a friend lent us his palapa at El Burro beach and said its kinda warm these
days, but bearable.
Its BerthaŽs place open all season?
WeŽll be taking with us a 14ft RIB, snorkeling and fishing gear... got any recommendations? saw some of photos of Isla Bargo and a few other places
weŽd love to see.
thanks.

I was at Burro 2-3 weeks ago. Bertha's had begun operating under their summer hours which meant they were not open until 2 or 3, as I recall. There
was also a day where they were closed completely; Tuesday or Wednesday.

"...kinda warm these days..." is an understatement.
Its the beginning of summer in Mulege; its hot and the humidity is high which makes for some intense weather.
Nights are still cooling down in June, and you have the option of being on or in the water which will give you relief.
Bring sunscreen and a t-shirt to swim in. Even while snorkeling you'll get burned otherwise.
Nice snorkeling right in Burro at the south end of the beach. Just follow the rocks; you can swim around the point and find yourself looking at Playa
Coyote.
Don't attempt to swim to the islands; they're too far and there's current and wind. Take your skiff out to them and enjoy!
Provisions can be found in the town of Mulege; there may or may not be vendors coming around-- its summer, so don't count on it.
Don't pay the ejido people a daily rate-- you're a legitimate guest of the owners of the palapa. Do spiff up the grounds around the homesite on your
departure.

Bob, we were at Bertha's a few weeks ago as well and Hook's right: they didn't open until 3:00 on Thursday. I don't remember the hours on the other
days of the week. I know in years past they have been open for breakfast but that seems to have changed, I guess.
