Parking for FMM

jgletne - 6-17-2012 at 06:47 AM

I know I need to get in the far right lane at San Ysidro. Is there room to park with a 28' motorohome towing a 20' boat. We'll be crossing around noon next Saturday.

you could go with the buses go but they WILL be peeved...just move FAST

with your big setup you may want to think about walking across then driving after...

or in this case buy from a travel club ( OMG did i say THAT!!!)

I didn't know they allowed those type of rigs through San Ysidro... thought you had to go through Otay Mesa or Tecate????

You can buy them in the U.S., yes... BUT, you still have to stop at the INM office across the border to validate them! So, no advantage to pre-buying them (unless there is no bank teller at the border you are using).

I've never had a problem crossing at San Ysidro. I was going to buy it through Vagabundos, but like David said you still need to stop. Plus I hate to pay for it since we will only be there for 7 days.

Bajabound for car insurance

be sure you have the proper and notarized documents for your grandson:

Minors: Mexican law requires that any non-Mexican citizen under the age of 18 departing Mexico must carry notarized written permission from any parent or guardian not traveling with the child to or from Mexico.

This permission must include the name of the parent, the name of the child, the name of anyone traveling with the child, and the notarized signature(s) of the absent parent(s).

The State Department recommends that the permission should include travel dates, destinations, airlines and a brief summary of the circumstances surrounding the travel. The child must be carrying the original letter – not a facsimile or scanned copy – as well as proof of the parent/child relationship (usually a birth certificate or court document) – and an original custody decree, if applicable.
