2013 Matomi Planning

Ken Cooke - 6-23-2012 at 01:31 PM

Will there be any extra room for a Jeep Wrangler and a Toyota 4 Runner? I am planning on making this trip in the new year - Those organizing this trip, I plan on being there.

How many nights camping... Do you want to have a base camp in the canyon or another along the valley... or on the beach? If there is no closed gate, the hot springs in Agua Caliente Canyon are very interesting to see, alongside the cool mountain stream.

Ken, I have pics of 4 canyons and other sites north of Matomi at http://vivabaja.com/404 including Parral, Berrendo, Agua Caliente and El Cajon.

I have roughly 8 days to work with. The beach would be optimal. I will fly this trip with JustRuns 4WD Club of San Diego along with my Pole Line Group on Facebook.

Good news!

Your Jeep is 'Shell Island Rated'!

If the Jeep won't move, I have a 2WD Honda Pilot and a 3" Pro-Comp tow strap! Either way, I'm partaking in the fun!:bounce:

Ken Cooke - 7-9-2012 at 10:03 PM

On Saturday, I sold my hard top, bought the buyers soft top, and paid off my Rubicon. Now, I'm ready to start taking the Jeep out more to have some fun!

Presidents Week(end)!! :bounce:

Ken Cooke - 9-4-2012 at 06:18 PM

Add another Jeep to the 4WD run to Baja. :bounce:

David K - 9-5-2012 at 09:50 AM

Better add more Toyotas so you Jeep guys can get out okay!:light:

(just kidding with you Ken... well sort-of!)

BAJACAT - 9-6-2012 at 10:38 PM

come on boys don't worry I have to tow straps one for Jeeps one for Toyo's..only this one it's made in CHINA so we may loose a TOYOTA down there.. get ready..it's only 5 months away..so far we visit MATOMI CANYON,EL DIABLO CANYON ,EL CAJON CANYON..Im hoping for EL BERRENDO CANYON I want to see the Blue palms.

David K - 9-6-2012 at 11:49 PM

Last word was that the ranchers put a fence across the entrance road to BERRENDO... maybe flash floods will have taken it out, or the army (if there was any 'cilantro' being grown)!

BAJACAT - 9-8-2012 at 12:13 PM

I like cilantro,oh wait what are we talking about DK, regular cilantro or the expensive kind, who was that while hiking found a bag of fertilizer up the canyon.

I found a lot more than one bag... there were several, all brought in by burro or mule. Then the drip irrigation as well as two workers!

Ken Cooke - 9-9-2012 at 08:52 PM

How about a Drip Irrigation General Store in the middle of the desert near the Rio Fuerte in Sinaloa? What you guys are talking about is 'little stuff'.

BAJACAT - 9-9-2012 at 09:17 PM

DK do you have anything to do with this drip irrigation system and are the two workers your friends...:?::biggrin:

David K - 9-9-2012 at 11:28 PM

Not with that drip system, nor those workers!
