New Tecate POE Ready Lane opening

Ken Cooke - 6-25-2012 at 04:57 PM

With the aim of reducing waiting times, the Ministry of infrastructure and urban development (Sidue) announced the opening, as a pilot program, Ready Lane lanes in the Tecate border crossing, which will operate only on Sundays, in the months of July and August. Photo: courtesy

Ken, The photo looks like the port of entry into Tecate.
Therefore, per the photo, the Ready Lane is running parallel to the POE?

My wait in the Ready lane at San Ysidro yesterday was 3.5 hours. Very depressing.

LOL... I kept reading this as "Power Over Ethernet ready lanes". I think I need a vacation.

No se, amigo. This is the photo that was provided by Frontera.info. You need to take a photo of the Ready Lane and post it to this thread for an update. Thanks!

My first (and only) time in the ready lane in Otay was also 3:45!
Regular lanes were averaging 1:45 that day.

Udo,
I learned my lesson yesterday. I'll check the ready lane first and if it's long, I'll head back to the regular lanes. Never again. The first 3 hours we were moving forward about a car length every 5 minutes. I couldn't believe the massive amount of wasted time and gas from the thousands of vehicles. I have to get Sentri.......can't they make a lane where you can pay $20 and get a cross in 20 minutes?

Sorry to hijack your thread Ken, with my depressing trip report.

I can't get the link to the crossing time graph site that g6 put together to work, as far as the ready lanes i,ve crossed nunerous times since they built the ready lanes here in san ysidro, always at 10am, always on a weekday, and each time its been right at an hour, give or take 5 minutes. 31/2 hours is awful, think thats typical for sunday?:?:

Ateo - 6-25-2012 at 05:56 PM

I bet it's typical for a Sunday. I had no option though....had to come home on Sunday. The regular lanes were backed up to 2nd street. I think the word is out on the Ready lane. I will never come back on a Sunday ever again after 10am.
