Border week: First Art Walk in Tijuana

"Tuesday: Alan Bersin, assistant secretary for international affairs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will speak on managing the U.S.
Mexico border in Tijuana at the Colegio de la Frontera Norte. At noon in the Aula Magna Raúl Rangel at the colegio's main facilities in San Antonio
del Mar.
Wednesday: Chef Diego Hernández Baquedano of the Corazón de Tierra Restaurant in the Guadalupe Valley is the featured speaker in a series entitled:
"Intellectuals and Gastronomy: From seed to the kitchen in Baja California." At the Tijuana Cultural Center (Cecut), sala de usos multiples, 7 p.m.
Friday: Flamenco Concert with Héctor Talavera and Pilar Gómez. At 9 p.m. at El Lugar del Nopal in downtown Tijuana, on Privada 5 de Mayo near the
corner of Calle Sexta.
Friday: Tijuana No! concert with guest bands Mexican Jumping Frijoles, Jammin Green Shop and DJs DuBus, Miss Lulu and Koco at the Multikulti (former
Cine Bujazán) in downtown Tijuana on Calle Constitución between Sixth and Seventh streets. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Saturday: Tijuana's Art Walk, a cultural event that aims to promote tourism and showcase local artists. Inside the Pasaje Gómez off of Avenida
Revolución between Second and Third Streets. Promoters are hoping to make the Art Walk a regular event held on the final Saturday of each month, with
proceeds used to restore the passageway. This week's inaugural event, scheduled to start at noon, includes music and food.
Sunday: San Ysidro is holding its Fourth of July Festival from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at César Chávez Park. Celebration includes three music stages, and
a Revolutionary War Reenactment.
Sunday: Mexican Election Day. Voters are choosing a new president, senators, and congressional representatives."
