KARL SHAW - MUSIC SLOTH

"An expat Canadian, I have been living in Tijuana since my wife died of Cancer here 8 years ago. I compose and record a lot of music in different genres... semi classical, jazz, symphonic, and finger style guitar.

I would like to meet English speaking musicians on this side of the border who would be interested in doing music with me.

I am not into playing Latin music or Mariachi or any of that... I want to find someone who is interested in working on the kind of stuff that I do. A lot of my music is Cinematic (good for film).

Just to give you an example, check out 'Goodby Again', and the liner notes that explain the story are included here:

Goodbye Again is a piece of music that I wrote some time ago... It is about saying the final goodbye to someone who you know that is leaving your life forever... Whether it is because of death or because of a change of location or because of a lost love...

Since my wife died of cancer, it seems that that event has colored a lot of my compositions.

Anyway, you will notice that the (symbolic) train arrives on the Left and finally departs to the Right. It is written from the perspective of the one being left behind. I hope you enjoy it...

As in all of my recordings so far, all of the instruments are played by me. This was recorded in my studio in Tijuana at 3-Toed Sloth Productions.

The guitar part is being played in 'C-Wahini' tuning which is CGDGBE."

Having lost my wife to a brain tumor, I found music as a way to express my feelings also, I just do not sound as good. JH
