Salvador Flores of Campos Ocotillo

mcfez - 6-28-2012 at 08:21 AM

At approximately 10:30 this evening, Wednesday, June 27th, Abril flores called to inform us that Salvador Flores had a heart attack and has passed away.

There is not much more to say at this time, Abril said that she will call
when she has information on what they plan to do.

Salvador was well known in the San Felipe community. Fact is....many such as BajaLou knew him well. He was the operator of the Campos Ocotillo community, 7 miles north of town.

His involvement with the Baja races, the sand rails that he used to build, the helping of the needy is well known. Off the Mexican 5 highway, one can see the AA Meeting Hall ( in front of the Campos Ocotillo) that Salvador donated the land and built the Hall with his own funds.

Goodbye ol' friend......many of us will miss you.

Family contact is:
ocotillo.flores@gmail.com

Could be a book title "God and Salvador"

He will be greatly missed around Campo Ocotillo,
Great fellow and almost always in an upbeat mood.

Great stories to tell about the "old days" and how things should be.

Hi everyone

I am sure that everyone is still in shock over the news of Salvador. We
just went to see Abril

and the whole family is having a very hard time, it was very unexpected.

*Tomorrow (Friday) 6 pm there will be a service at the Catholic church in
town*.

If you would like to go and need a ride, let us know and we will get you
there.

This heart attack was brought on by high blood pressure and Salvador
thinking it would

just go away. So if you suffer from this.....take care of it!

Knew Salvador pretty well back in the late 70's 80's and 90's. He had a tough go with drinking and serious charges thrown at him back in those drinking days. He seemed to turn his life around with the help of his old friend Miguel, the former waiter from Arnold's hotel restaurant and Camp Ruben's.

Boy ol boy did he turn his life around! In all the years I knew him.......not once was there a beer. he used to tell us how bad he was "in another life".

He ended up getting everyone of his kids a home in SF............
His youngest, Abril, will take control of the Campos.

Thank you for the info. I have passed it on to residents who are currently in Canada.
