Back on the road. Spent about a week at Tuckers while trans. and broken rear leaf springs were getting replaced. (nasty arroyo near El Triunfo!)
Left Tuckers yesterday and visited with the folks at Punta Leon. Then headed to Chayos and chatted with he, Lydia, and some other really nice folks.
Ordered birria for the party at Tuckers on the 21st.
Here goes the confusion again. Just when I decided on property in San Bartolo, Chayo says he has the perfect property for me. Oasis, palms, year
round water.
So, I will go with Luis to San Bartolo as Chayo thinks $1000 per hectare es muy caro. We shall see.
So, headed up to some other friends to give them some pictures and food. Big hit with all and I left there with two big venison roasts and some
"special" shells.
Made plans to photograph the reefs as well as some caves that they knew of. Invited them to the party and said I would see them soon. So far the
party is about 1/2 white and 1/2 Mexican. This should be fun.
Then, up to my favorite beach to set up camp. Awesome as always. Lot's of shells and nothing has changed since the last time I was here. I even find
my fuse puller that apparently fell out last visit.
Made my steak from the store and made coals for the venado. I cut up 1/2 a roast for steaks and smoked the other half. Apparently cactus and brush
make for a better diet than their northern cousins eat because this is the best venison I have ever tasted.
I ate both steaks and had already eaten my store steak! And, we will be chewing on smoked venison for days.
Again, I am stunned by this area. Chayo, Chongo, Rosaria, and Tomas are all trying to get me to do something here. I am planning on it!
This morning we walk about 4 Km up to Punta So n So. Found Carol's favorite, a puffer fish. But about a 10 pound dried one. Good addition to the
Addams Family Aquarium.
Ma?ana is reorganizing and then down to Chayos to trade some smoked meat for his queso famoso. Time for dinner.
