HOLA, while I was doing some marine fuel injection reserch I came accross this awsome offroad site with all kinds of goodies and eye candy..the reason

There is some pretty good stuff on there. I was reading his electricity section and he started with a comment about disconnecting the negative side of
a battery first and I wanted to read his explanation for it but it is not there, section 3 is not finished yet.

HOLA,,, the reason ya disconnect the neg first is a safty reason >>>no sparks..and no pwr surge to the ECM!!...remember a batt is like a cap
or sponge if you will,,it asorps and releases,,so if ya disconnect the neg first you dont have + voltage

speaking of 4x4's, electrical, neg/pos. etc... I used to be big into Range Rover's which I bought dirt cheap, built up with suspensions/drivetrain
mods, repaired all the issues, played with for a while and then sold for profit. I also parted them out on ebay, which was big profit, I'd buy a
rolled Rover for under $500 and sell the parts online for $5000.
The earlier Rovers as well as other early british cars, had positive ground systems. Talk about back-assward I never owned one, but a few buddies
did.

I was looking to see if the reasons went beyond the safety concerns. I can not find anything other than safety due to a wrench making contact with the
positive side to a ground when the positive side is disconnect first. I don't doubt that some companies may disconnect the negative side when powering
down but by and large most electrical and electronic equipment is powered down from the positive side. If there is a technical reason to switch off
