We have a Sentri pass and will be crossing Friday afternoon but we will have a guest with us. I don't know if we just all wait in the regular lanes
or we use our Sentri lane and have our friend walk across. Does anyone have any idea how long it normally takes for those walking across the border?bonanza bucko - 7-7-2012 at 03:49 PM
Don't know about the wait time but you need to check you SENTRI documents for the place where it says you will lose your SENTRI pass if you do
that....all people in the vehicle must have sentry documentation.
From the looks of the SENTRI lane, however, people try this all the time....don't know how often they get caught at it though.

You can let your guest off ... just before you go across .. Into the pedestrian line.. from your vehicle ...
And pick them up, across the border at the Burger King...

use your own judgement on how close to the border ya want to get, before letting out your passenger .. its a pretty easy one .. IMHO

I walk across frequently. The pedestrian lines can be quite long in the afternoons. Frequently 1 to 1.5 hours. I really doubt it will be less than 30
minutes. It's a toss up whether you take the Sentri and drop off your friend to walk across or just use the non-sentri lanes with everybody in the
car.
Later in the afternoon, after 4PM is better.Phil C - 7-8-2012 at 08:23 AM

Is your guest ablebodied? At Mexicali it is a bit of a walk but there is NO wait.SFandH - 7-11-2012 at 08:27 PM

I walked back from TJ this afternoon at 3 PM. There was no wait. I walked right up to the immigration officer.
What a pleasant surprise!

Last two times walking across the border from TJ to San Ysidro withing the last month and a half there was hardly any wait. Very unusual.
