How About a Baja Nomad Obitutiary Section?

Gypsy Jan - 7-20-2012 at 06:07 PM

Hey, let's face up to it that some of us are looking at the exit door.

So, maybe we could create a space here here we can get news about a departed Nomad.

Why Jan? From the grave?Oh maybe you mean about to be depated? Gotcha. It's kinda morbid but there are a lot of us oldsters here. For some reason, I don't think the idea is gonna fly.Good thought tho....

After having read about your epic work to take care of your daughter, I thought that maybe Baja Nomad could create a forum that is a healing space for remembrance.

Maybe someone will find a place to let the hurt out; maybe it will be distasteful to others.

I just don't want to lose memories of special people.

Send a U2 to Doug, Jan.

I ran some ideas about other items, but no results.

Ski Baja (aka JR) should be the first one put up. Greatest Nomand of all time. How long has it been?

Mike Humphreyville belongs on such a list. He gets my vote as the best deceased nomad of all time. Yes, this is a bit morbid.

Russ - 7-20-2012 at 08:15 PM

I'm sure I'm on that page I just don't know it.

EnsenadaDr - 7-20-2012 at 08:16 PM

Here lies Baja Bob...

He died from not forwarding that text message to 10 people.

Mike Humphreyville

EnsenadaDr - 7-20-2012 at 08:20 PM

Wasn't he the guy that ran South of the Border MX...I was a member of that group until it suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth?? What happened to him?

Hey Folks, I Was Not Making a Joke

I just thought that may Baja Nomad maybe/might create a special place for Nomads that have passed.

EnsenadaDr - 7-20-2012 at 08:28 PM

Gypsy, It appears Ron Hoff has an obituary section in his site Talk Baja

Surfers never die, they just fade left or right!

I would be for the kind we see in newspapers. Don't know how we might learn about the demise of the Nomad whose stats would hold the post.

What I would not want to see is the other kind; the neverending memorial full of smarmy hyperbole a lot of which flows from people who did not know the dead person in the least. Past streams of posts about Nomads who left us were more eulogy than statistics >> the kinds of things we say when a movie star dies.

Bob H - 7-21-2012 at 07:05 AM

Nah... I do not want a thread like this. I would rather have my OWN "Bob H" thread when I pass on.... OK?

He had a heart as big as all outdoors

Skipjack Joe - 7-21-2012 at 07:10 AM

Yes, and we could include a picture of the nomad set in a black frame.

And maybe even a song to remember him by ...
